I love the geometric design of these Patriotic Placemats.
A few of these Striped Nautical Pillows would look great scattered about a white slip covered sofa.
Fun and festive these Patriotic Tubs would be a great way to ice down drinks.
This adorable Star Print Dress from topshop is festive, but still stylish.
I want to make these Patriotic Party Favors to brighten up my table.
This Stars and Stripes Runner from William Sonoma would be so cute across the top of an outdoor bar.
You can never go wrong with Star Themed Cupcakes from Sprinkles.
These Star Embellished Peep Toes by Marc Jacobs are not at all practical, but oh soooo cute!
Shirt, Shorts, Jewelry-Jcrew, Belt-H&M, Purse-Vintage, Shoes-Jessica Simpson
I am always looking for a way to look a little more polished in a pair of shorts. I was excited when I found this pair from Jcrew last summer. The tailored cut, cuffs at the legs, and subtle gold dots give them a little something extra. And even though I have been wearing nothing but bathing suits and cover ups for the past 5 days during our beach vacation, I did have the opportunity to wash off the sand and sunscreen and dress up for a dinner out. I am loving the dressier shorts I am seeing this season and will definitely be adding this silky pair in the prettiest shade of blue, and this swingy style to my summer wardrobe.

My out and about today features DSW, A shoe junkies mecca indeed! They have a huge selection of designer brands for a fraction of the cost. A few of their luxury designers include: Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Prada, and Taryn Rose. They are giving $10.00 off any online purchase through June 28th. Here is a sampling of what caught my eye and a few tips to remember when shoe shopping.
1. Go shopping later in the afternoon or evening because your feet swell throughout the day.
2. Try on the left and the right shoe as most people have a slight size variation. A few months back, I bought 2 pairs of the same style of shoe in different colors. I needed a 9 in the white and a 10 in the brown. Go figure!
3. Walk around the store to get a good idea as to the fit.
4. Try them on with the hose or socks you would normally wear so that there are no surprises after you get them home!
5. Forget the phrase "they will stretch out". Most times a leather shoe will stretch out, but there have been times that my spur of the moment shoe purchase was as tight a year later as they were the day I bought them.
6. Always be sure you have enough wiggle room for your toes. There is nothing worse than the feeling of scrunched up toes during a meeting or on a date.
7. Buy shoes at the end of the season for the best deals. They can be marked up to as much as 60% more during the peak of the season. Unless of course you want to be the first one sporting the latest shoe trend! Which in some cases, I would not blame you! I have been guilty of that a few times. It really is possible to fall in love with a great pair of shoes!!!!!
8. Shop with this motto-A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes!
What are your shoe shopping tips? I would love to hear from you!
Blouse-French Connection, Skirt-Old Navy, Shoes-Enzo Angiolini
I bought this billowy top a year ago thinking I needed to add a little pattern and color into my wardrobe which is made up mostly of neutrals. I have not worn it very much because I can never seem to find the right item of clothing to pair it with. I pulled it out this past weekend and tucked it into this little white skirt. I blended in perfectly at the Mexican restaurant where we celebrated Father's Day. I felt colorful and cheery all day! French Connection has lots of blouses and tunics in a variety of prints and they are having a 50% off sale right now. Happy Monday!
A Tribute To My Dad
As a little girl you were my daddy
You showed me love in your masculine way
You comforted me when I was sad
And you were my protector every day.
As a girl you were my dad
You taught me the qualities in a good man.
You showed me right from wrong,
As only a father can.
As a woman you are my father
You are always there for me,
You listen and you give advice,
A pillar of strength you'll always be.
This takes a special kind of man
So there's one thing you should know,
Your more than daddy, dad, and father
In a word you are my hero.
Happy Father's Day to all of the special men out there. Enjoy your day!
I love cooking with fresh fruit and summer is the best time for using berries in your recipes. I could not wait to try a recipe I recently came across for Raspberry Cream Sandwich Cookies. The tartness of the raspberries turned into a strong sweet flavor when I mixed them with heavy cream and white chocolate for the filling. A cookie sandwich never tasted so good! What is your favorite berry recipe? Send me an email or post it in the comments!
Here are a few pretty things I have come across so perfect for summer! Enjoy! Angelia

I spent the weekend updating my beach cottage inspired room that I totally redid last summer. If I had a million dollars I would do something along the lines of the photos below. But since I don't (sigh) I will enjoy my own little beachy room I did on a budget! What inspires your home decorating style?
